Good Music DJ.com understands that there
is a lot to plan a successful celebration, but don't let this overwhelm you.
Over the years we have heard from satisfied customers, of
previous experiences they've had in the past with other entertainment.
We've heard of other DJs who don't seem to have a clue how to play the
music. The result is that people don't have a good time and have
bad memories, of what should be a joyous event.
Due to advances in technology, there seems to be an explosion of people
who have a few songs on their computer and now think that because a
professional DJ makes it "look" so easy, believe they can do it too. Technology has made
it possible for many people to gather music and store it in ways that it is
easier than ever before to carry some of their favorite music with them. But there is
much more to a successful event than having an mp3 player loaded with
someone's favorite music.
Here are some important reasons to
consider hiring a professional DJ:
Experience: A professional DJ knows how to play
the right mix of music to please all of your guests. He knows what
kind of music works and what doesn't. He knows how to select & use
professional equipment and trouble shoot in the event of something going
wrong. He is prepared for equipment failure in the unlikely event of
it happening. He won't be late for an event and will have everything
ready to go before the scheduled start time.
Service:
Are you able to access information on the web to help you with you music
selections? There's a lot more to providing entertainment at a wedding
reception than just having a bunch of songs. Communication is key to
understanding your needs and making your guests feel comfortable & able to
celebrate your joy with you. Does you DJ provide you & your guests
access to lists of well prepared music to use to make requests online or at
your reception? Do they even have a web site? Is it useful &
does it make your experience fun & easy? Will your DJ be afraid to
speak on the microphone? The #1 fear is the fear of speaking in
public. Some of my customers have experienced other services where the
DJ was afraid to use the mic!
Reliable: Every year we
hear from brides scrambling the week of their wedding to replace their
budget DJ, who cancelled at the last moment. We realize that there are
many people out there with limited budgets for the reception, but we
encourage you to think about the importance of the entertainment. Some
people make the mistake of paying so little for the music that if the price
of gas increased by $1.00/gal, their DJ would not show up, because they
would spend more to drive to the gig than they would make.
I predict there will be an increase in the number
of stressed-out brides this year, scrambling the week of their reception,
trying to replace their "budget DJ." Don't let that happen to you!
